A meaningful community outreach program, Polenyo Kids, was successfully held in Barangay Biga, Pola, Oriental Mindoro, bringing together young beneficiaries from various barangays for a day of learning, health awareness, and support.
The program formally began with an opening prayer, setting a positive and hopeful tone for the activities that followed. One of the highlights of the event was an educational lecture on children’s rights, led by Police Senior Master Sergeant Luz S. Dinia, Women and Children Protection Desk Police Non-Commissioned Officer (WCPD PNCO). The session aimed to raise awareness among the children about their rights and the importance of protecting themselves in different situations.
The Municipal Advisory Council, under the leadership of its president, Mr. Aljon Rabulan, served as the main sponsor of the event. The council generously provided meals, snacks, drinks, and school supplies to all participating children, ensuring that the young attendees not only gained knowledge but also received essential support for their daily needs.
Adding to the significance of the program, guest dentist Dra. Maria Corina Venturanza conducted a dental health session. She taught the children the proper way to brush their teeth, distributed toothbrushes, and applied fluoride treatment to promote better oral hygiene among the participants.
The Polenyo Kids initiative demonstrated a strong collaboration between local authorities, community leaders, and health professionals, all working together to promote the welfare, education, and well-being of children in the municipality.
Pola MPS expressed their gratitude to all partners and participants, emphasizing the importance of continued efforts in nurturing and protecting the youth as valuable members of the community.
