During the landfall of a typhoon UWAN in Oriental Mindoro on November 9, 2025, the Pola Municipal Police Station immediately implemented necessary measures and monitoring operations under the leadership of PMAJ FLORANTE M SUGIAN II to ensure the safety and security of residents.

Starting the morning of November 9, PMAJ Sugian led various operations and coordination efforts, including the submission of continuous situational reports and extensive monitoring of rivers, low-lying areas, and potential landslide-prone locations in Pola, Oriental Mindoro, to address possible threats of flooding and soil erosion.

As part of inter-agency coordination, a police personnel was assigned to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) to focus on updates and operational coordination with the local government.

On the same day, the inspection of Search and Rescue (SAR) boxes and equipment was conducted to ensure all resources were in good working condition and ready for immediate use.

Pola MPS personnel also wore SAR uniforms, demonstrating their readiness and dedication to respond to any emergency caused by the storm.

According to PMAJ FLORANTE M SUGIAN II Chief of Pola MPS, “The safety of every Poleno is our top priority. Pola MPS is always ready to serve and respond, at any time and in any weather.”

These measures were carried out in cooperation with the MDRRMO, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and other partner agencies as part of Pola’s proactive disaster response efforts, ensuring a safe and peaceful community amid the heavy rainfall.
