Pola, Oriental Mindoro — In line with the intensified implementation of Oplan SUMVAC 2025 (Summer Vacation), the Pola Municipal Police Station (MPS) successfully carried out security and public safety measures throughout the observance of Holy Week in the municipality.

Under the leadership of PMaj Florante M. Sugian II, Chief of Police of Pola MPS, Police Assistance Desks (PADs) were strategically deployed early on at major churches, coastal areas, and well-known pilgrimage sites such as Krus ng Kalikasan to ensure the safety of worshippers, tourists, and local residents.

Security convoys and well-coordinated traffic management were also enforced during religious processions from Maundy Thursday to Good Friday. Meanwhile, the continuous rollout of Oplan Bandilyo helped remind the public of safety tips, religious observance protocols, and road safety guidelines for motorists.

To further strengthen on-ground visibility, mobile and foot patrols were sustained in various barangays, contributing to the achievement of a zero-crime incident throughout the Holy Week celebration.

Additionally, COMELEC checkpoints remained active as part of the ongoing election-related security operations in preparation for the upcoming polls.

Overall, the week-long religious observance in Pola concluded in a peaceful and orderly manner — a result of the active cooperation among members of the PNP, barangay tanods, and the local community.

“Our goal is not only to ensure security, but also to bring peace of mind to the public as they worship and rest during Holy Week,” said PMaj Sugian.
