The Pola Municipal Police Station personnel, under the leadership of PMAJ FLORANTE M SUGIAN II, successfully conducted a Simulation Exercise (SIMEX), Communication Exercise (COMMEX), and Contingency Response Exercise (CEREX) on January 9, 2025, at Barangay Tiguihan, Pola, Oriental Mindoro. The activity was designed to ensure, verify, and validate the readiness of security and contingency plans across all levels of command—Strategic, Operational, and Tactical—in response to unforeseen incidents during the electoral process.

The exercise simulated a landslide caused by a typhoon, rendering a critical bridge impassable. This scenario prevented the Electoral Board and PNP security personnel from transporting election returns and the Automated Counting Machine (ACM). The activity tested the unit’s capability to address such logistical challenges and maintain the integrity of the electoral process.

The Red Team, under the supervision of PLTCOL JAN ALEXIS BASAÑEZ, Force Commander of the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) of the Oriental Mindoro Police Provincial Office (ORMIN PPO), played a pivotal role in ensuring the exercise’s effectiveness by providing realistic scenarios and thorough evaluations.

The event was further strengthened by the active participation of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Pola, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Pola, the Municipal Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) Pola, and the barangay officials and residents of Barangay Tiguihan. Their collaborative efforts contributed significantly to the success of the exercise, showcasing a unified approach to crisis management and electoral security.
PLTCOL Jan Alexis Basañez emphasized, “This exercise highlights the importance of being well-prepared and well-coordinated with other agencies in situations like this. It is through proactive measures and inter-agency collaboration that we can effectively address potential disruptions and ensure the success of our security and contingency plans in real-world scenarios.”
