The Pola Municipal Police Station successfully wrapped up its 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) with a culminating program held on December 12, 2024, at 8:00 AM at the DISIPLINADOS Hall, Barangay Zone-I, Pola, Oriental Mindoro.

The event was graced by Ms. Teresita Manahan Ong as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. In her heartfelt message, Ms. Ong shared her inspiring journey, highlighting how poverty became her source of strength and empowerment as a woman. Her story resonated with the audience, as she encouraged women to rise above life’s challenges, use their struggles as stepping stones, and never lose hope in the face of adversity.

Ms. Ong also emphasized the importance of education, self-reliance, and community support in empowering women to break free from the cycle of violence and inequality.

The culmination program was attended by barangay officials, local stakeholders, and representatives from various women’s groups, along with personnel from Pola MPS. Activities included a recap of the station’s initiatives during the 18-day campaign, which featured community dialogues, educational seminars, and collaborations aimed at raising awareness on violence against women and advocating for gender equality.

In his closing remarks, PMAJ SUGIAN II, ACOP Pola MPS, reaffirmed the station’s commitment to ensuring the safety and empowerment of women in the community. He stated:
“Ending violence against women requires a united effort. Through continuous education, engagement, and enforcement of laws, we aim to build a society where every woman feels safe, valued, and empowered.”
