POLA, ORIENTAL MINDORO — September 26, 2026 — The Pola Municipal Police Station (Pola MPS) conducted the BPATS Refresher Course 2026 at the Pola Auditorium, attended by members of the Barangay Police Assistance Team (BPATS) from various barangays in the Municipality of Pola.
The activity featured a series of lectures and refresher discussions aimed at enhancing the knowledge, skills, and readiness of BPATS members in carrying out their duties as partners of the police in maintaining peace, order, and safety in their respective communities.
Among the resource speakers was Mr. Ivans D. Añаsco, Social Welfare Officer I, who discussed Gender and Development (GAD). Mr. Dennis V. De Castro, MLGOO IV of Pola, also shared valuable insights and discussed matters relevant to the roles and responsibilities of BPATS members.
The activity was further highlighted by the presence and support of Hon. Jennifer M. Cruz, Municipal Mayor of Pola, who personally joined the activity and expressed her continued support for the BPATS members.
As part of her support, Mayor Cruz provided various equipment and supplies to assist the BPATS in the performance of their duties, including BPATS T-shirts, hats, whistles, traffic signs, flashlights, and reflectorized vests. These materials are intended to support their daily activities, particularly in traffic assistance, maintaining order, providing guidance to the public, and responding to situations requiring immediate assistance. The reflectorized vests and other identification materials will also help make BPATS members more visible and recognizable while performing their duties in the community.
Mayor Cruz also provided lunch, snacks, and cash assistance to the participants of the training as part of her continuing support and appreciation for their service to the community.
In her message, Mayor Cruz encouraged the BPATS members to continue working closely with the police and actively participate in crime prevention efforts, as well as in maintaining peace, security, and order in their respective barangays.
The activity underscored the importance of strong cooperation among the Municipal Government of Pola, Pola MPS, BPATS, and the community in preventing possible incidents, strengthening public safety, and promoting a peaceful and orderly municipality.
