POLA, Oriental Mindoro – A drug suspect was arrested following a successful buy-bust operation conducted by the Pola Municipal Police Station (MPS) in Barangay Maluanluan, Pola, Oriental Mindoro, on June 4, 2026.

The operation, carried out at around 9:30 p.m., was led by the Pola Municipal Drug Enforcement Team (MDET) under the supervision of PCPT Bernie T. Ortega, Officer-in-Charge of Pola MPS. The suspect was arrested for alleged violation of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The suspect was caught selling suspected shabu and was immediately placed under arrest. He was informed of the nature of his arrest and apprised of his constitutional rights in a language he understood.

Authorities recovered two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with a total estimated weight of 0.22 gram and an estimated standard drug price of ₱1,496.

The seized items were properly marked, inventoried, and photographed at the scene in the presence of the required witnesses, in compliance with Section 21 of Republic Act No. 9165. The operating team also utilized Alternative Recording Devices (ARDs) throughout the operation in accordance with A.M. No. 21-06-08-SC.

The suspect and the confiscated evidence are currently under the custody of the Pola Municipal Police Station for documentation and other legal procedures. The seized items will be turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) MIMAROPA for laboratory examination, while the suspect will undergo the required drug testing.

PCPT Bernie T. Ortega, Officer-in-Charge of Pola MPS, said the successful operation reflects the station’s continued commitment to combating illegal drugs and protecting the community from the harmful effects of prohibited substances.

“This successful operation demonstrates our unwavering campaign against illegal drugs. We will continue to intensify our anti-drug operations to maintain peace and order and protect our community from the dangers of illegal drugs,” Ortega said.

The Pola Municipal Police Station reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening anti-illegal drug operations and encouraged the public to continue supporting law enforcement efforts by reporting illegal drug activities in their communities.
