Pola, Oriental Mindoro — In a demonstration of strong support for the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) thrust toward faster and more responsive law enforcement service, Mayor Jennifer M. Cruz of Pola, Oriental Mindoro, donated two (2) Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) radios to the Pola Municipal Police Station (MPS) during the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony held this morning, July 7, 2025, in Brgy. Bayanan.

The said donation aligns with the 5-Minute Response Program of Chief PNP PGen. Nicholas Torre III, which aims to ensure quicker police response to emergencies and incidents, especially in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDAs).

As a symbolic gesture of support, Mayor Cruz personally handed over the PoC radios to PMAJ FLORANTE M SUGIAN II, Chief of Police of Pola MPS, in a short ceremonial turnover during the flag-raising program.

Mayor Cruz emphasized the importance of strong collaboration between the local government and the PNP to further enhance community safety and real-time response capabilities.

“This donation is a small but meaningful contribution to the overall mission of our PNP to serve with speed, integrity, and presence. The LGU remains committed to supporting initiatives that protect our communities,” said Mayor Cruz.

The Pola MPS expressed its appreciation to Mayor Cruz, noting that the PoC radios will significantly aid in real-time coordinationcommunication coverage, and rapid deployment of patrol teams, particularly in remote barangays with limited signal.

The 5-Minute Response Program is a flagship strategy of the PNP under the leadership of PGen Torre, focusing on police visibility, immediate response, and citizen-centered service delivery across all localities.
