Pola, Oriental Mindoro — October 29, 2025 — “Peace is not merely the absence of conflict, but the presence of unity.”This inspiring principle set the tone for an important dialogue held in the Municipality of Pola, which focused on the current peace and order situation and the collective efforts to strengthen the partnership among the police, the local government, and the community.
The gathering was led by officials from the Philippine National Police and the local government, with the shared goal of fostering a safe, peaceful, and progressive community through cooperation and mutual understanding.
Peace and Order Situation and Police Programs
The program began with the introduction of participants by PEMS Reynold G Fabroa, followed by the Welcome Remarks of PCPT JOSEPH M MERCADO, Deputy Chief of Police.
PMAJ FLORANTE M SUGIAN II, Chief of Police of Pola MPS, presented a comprehensive report on the current peace and order condition of the municipality. He highlighted the effective programs implemented by the Pola Municipal Police Station, focusing on improving public service, safety, and community relations. He also underscored the importance of active citizen participation as a key factor in maintaining peace and security.
Fight Against Insurgency and Disinformation
PLT JONALD PAPASIN discussed the local insurgency situation and the ongoing efforts of the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, under the leadership of PLTCOL ALDWIN SANTOS, to combat the threat of insurgency.
Meanwhile, Hon. Sheikinah Grace C. Sanz emphasized the vital role of the youth in resisting deception and recruitment by leftist groups. She affirmed that the Sangguniang Kabataan of Oriental Mindoro stands united with the police and the military in fighting against fake news, criminality, and insurgency.
Open Forum and Call for Unity
An Open Forum was conducted, allowing the residents of Pola to freely express their insights, suggestions, and feedback on police programs and initiatives. The open exchange reflected the genuine concern and active participation of the community in maintaining safety and order.
Hon. Jennifer M. Cruz, Municipal Mayor of Pola, also delivered an inspiring message reaffirming her steadfast support for the programs of the local police.
In his closing message, PCOL EDISON V REVITA, Provincial Director, emphasized the importance of collective action:
“The problems in our community are not solely the concern of the police or the government—it is through the cooperation of the citizens, the police, and the entire community that true solutions can be achieved.”
