Personnel from the Pola Municipal Police Station actively participated in the “Strengthening Institutional Capacities of Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (SICAP-BADAC) and Barangay Peace and Order and Public Safety (BPOPS) / Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Plan of Action (BADPA) Training” held on October 14–15, 2025, at the Loghouse in Kabilang Ibayo, Barangay Batuhan, Pola, Oriental Mindoro.


The activity was spearheaded by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Pola, in coordination with the Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC). It aimed to enhance the capability of Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (BADACs) in implementing programs against illegal drugs and in maintaining peace and order within their respective jurisdictions.
Representing Pola MPS, PCPT JOSEPH M MERCADO, Deputy Chief of Police, served as one of the resource speakers and discussed vital topics such as the Basics of Information Reporting, Principles of Intelligence, Information Gathering, and Reporting of Information. His presentation emphasized proper methods of collecting, reporting, and analyzing data related to illegal activities at the barangay level, as well as the importance of discipline and coordination between BADAC members and law enforcement authorities.
Through this training, barangay officials and BADAC members gained valuable knowledge and practical skills to strengthen their role in safeguarding their communities against the threat of illegal drugs and in sustaining peace, safety, and order throughout the municipality of Pola.
