Caught in the Act: Pola MPS Nabs Suspect in Anti-Drug Operation

Pola, Oriental Mindoro – June 9, 2025 — Swift action by the Pola Municipal Police Station led to the arrest of a 42-year-old male suspect in Sitio Kabilang Ibayo, Brgy. Batuhan, for alleged violations of Sections 12 and 15 of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

At around 1:00 PM, the station received a tip from a concerned citizen regarding the illegal drug activity. By 6:50 PM, responding personnel from Pola MPS caught the suspect in the act of allegedly using illegal drugs (shabu) at the reported location.

The arresting officers immediately apprised the suspect of his constitutional rights in a language he clearly understood. Evidence marking and inventory are currently ongoing. In line with operational protocol, the activity was documented using two Alternative Recording Devices (ARDs), in compliance with the Supreme Court rules on the use of body-worn cameras.

“This successful operation is a result of the strong partnership between the community and the police. We encourage everyone to continue working with us in the fight against illegal drugs. The Pola MPS reiterates its commitment to curbing illegal drug activities in the municipality and calls on the community to continue cooperating by reporting suspicious acts.
