A resident of Barangay Tagumpay in Pola, Oriental Mindoro voluntarily turned over an unregistered firearm to authorities, in support of the Philippine National Police’s intensified campaign against loose firearms under “Oplan Katok.”

At approximately 12:30 p.m. on May 25, 2025, a 43-year-old male personally went to the Pola Municipal Police Station located in Barangay Zone 1 to surrender one (1) unit of a caliber .38 revolver without a serial number, along with several rounds of ammunition.

The firearm was duly received by investigator PCpl. Mark Aris R. Ferrera and was subsequently turned over to PCpl. Eugene Montalbo, the station’s logistics PNCO, for proper safekeeping and appropriate disposal.

The Philippine National Police continues to urge the public to support its campaign against loose firearms to help maintain peace and order in local communities.
