Ensuring Electoral Integrity: Pola MPS Hosts Unity Walk and Peace Covenant
Pola, Oriental Mindoro – In a firm commitment to ensuring a peaceful and orderly electoral process, Pola MPS successfully facilitated the Unity Walk, Candle Lighting, and Covenant Signing on February 18, 2025, at 6:00 AM at Pola Community College Plaza, Barangay Zone 2, Pola, Oriental Mindoro.






The event, held in accordance with the guidelines and procedures for securing the 2025 National and Local Elections (NLE) and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Parliamentary Elections (BARMM PE) on May 12, 2025, was spearheaded by PMAJ FLORANTE M SUGIAN II, Chief of Police, Pola MPS and conducted in close coordination with key stakeholders.
Notable attendees included Mr. Meynardo Axalan, Municipal Administrator; Mr. Joel Judrial, Municipal Election Officer; religious leaders from Pola Saint John the Baptist Parish Church, led by Rev. Pastor Malon Labay; and Life Coaches of Pola MPS, led by Rev. Pastor Manuel Labao. Also present were personnel from the 3rd Platoon, 2nd PMFC, led by PCPT BERNIE ORTEGA; Mr. Dennis De Castro, MLGOO; BFP personnel led by SFO4 Ricky Bautista, Fire Marshal; Advocacy Support Groups; and aspiring candidates for the 2025 local elections.
The initiative aimed to foster unity and uphold the integrity of the electoral process by encouraging all local candidates to commit to a peaceful and orderly election. The event underscored the collaborative efforts of the PNP, LGU, COMELEC, and other agencies in promoting a secure and fair electoral environment.
The program commenced with the singing of the National Anthem, followed by an interfaith prayer and candle lighting ceremony led by Rev. Fr. Marlon Labay and Rev. Pastor Manuel Labao.
Messages of encouragement were then delivered by PMAJ FLORANTE M SUGIAN II, Mr. Meynardo Axalan, and Mr. Dennis De Castro, emphasizing the significance of a peaceful and secure electoral process.
A highlight of the event was the Pledge of Commitment, led by Mr. Joel Judrial, which was solemnly recited by all attendees, followed by the signing of the Pledge of Commitment Manifesto. This symbolic act reaffirmed the participants’ dedication to upholding peace, fairness, and the rule of law throughout the election period.







To further guide the candidates, Mr. Joel Judrial discussed the Do’s and Don’ts under COMELEC Resolution No. 11086, ensuring that all participants were well-informed of the legal parameters set by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) to prevent violations and maintain electoral integrity.
The successful conduct of this event highlights the strong commitment of Pola MPS and its partner agencies in championing a safe, peaceful, and honest election for 2025. With the collective efforts of law enforcement, local government units, and the community, Pola remains firm in its mission to safeguard the democratic process and uphold public trust in the electoral system.
